TMC Holds Golf Tournament fundraiser in Laredo
Laredo, TX –On Saturday, April 4, 2009 TMC hosted its first annual TMC Laredo Golf Tournament. This fundraiser will help TMC continue providing Webb County with the quality services that South Texas families deserve.
The golf tournament held at Casa Blanca Golf Course was a four man Ambrose Scramble. Tournament entry included lunch, cart and green fees, and a goody bag. Door prizes were also drawn on the day of the event and a silent auction was held. The tournament began at 8:00 am with registration at 7:30 am.
The winners of the tournament were Hector J. Perez, Joe Murillo, Armando Garcia, and Mauricio Mendez.
Javier Santos, Trustee for the Fernando “Chito’ Salinas Trust announced that the Trust would match up to $35,000 of the funds raised during the tournament. Also, Trustee Santos challenged other Trusts and Foundations to support the work of Safe Haven.
“The success of our programs has always been the partnerships that we have in Laredo. We look forward to making this tournament an annual event”, stated Mary Capello – CEO.
Background
TMC has been providing early childhood education services to families in Texas for over 35 years. Through our Texas Early Education Model (TEEM) program, TMC is involved in the development and demonstration of curriculums and approaches designed to ensure children enter school ready to learn with more than 200 classrooms being certified by the State. Through the Laredo-Webb County Safe Haven, TMC assists children, in delicate family situations, with the opportunities needed to provide a safe exchange between custodial and non-custodial parents. Also, this program allows for supervised visitations that ensure that children and their non-custodial parent can meet in a safe and secured environment.
