Crystal City Wintergarden Region Announces Parent Center Committee Officers
Crystal City, TX – The Crystal City Wintergarden Region announced the new officers for the Parent Center Committees for each Center in the Crystal City Region. Each Center Committee is comprised of six or more parents. The Parent Center Committee (PCC) is comprised exclusively of Migrant Seasonal parents/legal guardians who have children currently enrolled in the Center where they serve. The purpose of each Parent Center Committee to maintain a formal structure of shared governance through which all parents can participate in a broad range of opportunities in the shared decision making process.
The PCC assists staff by providing input in developing and implementing local program policies, activities, and services. Plan, conduct and organize center program activities with assistance from staff. Assist in the process of recruitment of children from the community. Also, the PCC participates in the recruitment and screening of Migrant and Seasonal Head Start employees within the guidelines established by the TMC Governing Board and the Policy Council.
Each PCC elects officers to serve as President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Each Officer in the Parent Center Committee serves for a 12 month period.
